had Zamareya started playing ball in the second grade, when she began training at a higher level with A.J. Evans founder of Women Run every Friday and Keith McLawhorn, both of “The Dungeon Family. bugging the coaches, mainly her dad, to be included in practice and training with her older sisters team, Lady Sting. Just to get her out of the way her dad said, ‘take these two balls, dribble them around the court without stopping and I’ll let you participate. She did , in Zamareya fashion with determination, and passion. The first teams her early exploits were nurtured was playing Coeds with Upward. She was spending quality time with The first coaches in travel were with The Lady Sting, coaches Steve Staton, Rob Lockamy, and of course her dad, Marvin Jones. You could say Zamareya travel ball started at the age 8 , when at a Lady Sting tournament, she was wearing a uniform just being part of organization when the Coach of the High School Girls told her parents he was putting her in the game. ‘We already winning by a lot’, Coach said, “ I just want to see to get some action “Start Players early they are like jello put good things before they mold and watch what they build, plus she had been working really hard at practice”. At first though a little reluctant the parents agreed and she went in the game. In Zam fashion she rose to the opportunity and made a player from the other team fall with a cross over playing awesome defense and showing wasn't too small the moment. The beginning was so good that Lady Sting created a team in her age group. “Steel sharpens steel and the top girl talent in the 252 area helped push Zamareya. Lady Sting Alum such as Nijanique Langley Virginia Union, Journee McDaniel East Tennessee State University, Kylah Silver UNC Wilmington, Miyah Verse University of Georgia and Bianca Lockamy Virginia Union just a few Zamareya wanted to compete against. helped push her. It didn't stop there, Lady Sting merged with Lady Hurricanes Coached by Earl McCrae who boast another list of great players such as Takwana Bland Georgia State, and Kayla Jones NC State. The merger, which purpose was to get the players out in National stage prepared her for her present endeavors at age 10. Though she played with her age group, she was taken as a 5th grader went on “The World Tour With A Ball In Hand”, 2 weeks of basketball, and as 5th grade playing with a high school team, Team 252 was Zamareya next conquest. She willed her way in the game as great players do. Funny story, she called her mom and was like coach isn't playing me like he should and their the tables turned, as this same coach that put her in the game at age 8 now had to honor the earlier decision, now playing her against high school teams in Spooky Nook, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey at age 10.
